This is for the community college students...

How much do you pay per credit at your college?  I'm researching for my personal knowledge [to see whether or not my college is way overpriced at $156/credit].

Off Topic But Very Important. March Of Dimes Walk AmericaCollapse )
About this Entry
Mar. 31st, 2005 @ 11:25 am Long time....
Ugh.. so I've been a little absent around here... lots had happened...

First of all, Dmitri Alan was born March 7th. Yay! He looks just like his daddy, and demands just as much attention :P So i've been kept rather busy.

And of course he was born the first day of midterms so I've spent the last week and a half making those up. Yay. Classes are going well, but it turns out I'm not graduating this semester... I couldn't take my photography class because it ended up being $1300 in just supplies... forget it. And my Geology class, well... was great except all the seat were waaaaay too freaking small (they were elementary school desks and I couldn't fit into them 9 months pregnant, the school was unaccomodating, so I dropped it). Oh well..
They're going to let me walk anyway, and then I'll take an art and a science course over the summer.

weeeee... Hope everyone's having a good month!

Name: Chelsea
Age: 21
Location: Austin TX
School: The University of Texas Austin
Married, Engaged, Parenting, and/or Pregnant? Pregnant and in a serious relationship.
Best and worst traits of the people you live with/people you have to put up with online: my roommate is awesome but I don't think we will be living together in the next school year.
Living arrangement: I live with one female roommate in an apartment. My boyfriend lives three hours away from me.
The toughest part of living the life that you have chosen: Right now the toughest part is how much I worry about how tough it is going to be.
The best part of living the life that you have chosen: I am so excited that there is a tiny life being created inside of me.
How did you find this community? I searched "pregnancy" in the interest field.
What do you think of the idea behind it? I was so thrilled to find this community because a lot of the other communities geared towards young mothers seemed to attract a crowd that I couldn' exactly identify with. At the same time, I have no one in my peer group at school to talk about pregnancy with, so it is great to have this community.

Living arrangement: I live with my fiancee
The toughest part of living the life that you have chosen: Well, nothing is tough so far except for being a law student, but I plan on having my baby as soon as possible, which means I will be giving birth during my first year of practice, and that will be difficult to juggle.
How did you find this community? Saw a link for it in a different community.
What do you think of the idea behind it? I think it's a wonderful idea for a few reasons, the top two being that (1) it is important for young parents to continue their education so they can provide a better life for their current or future children and (2) I think that there is a tendency among young professional women to sacrifice motherhood for their careers because of a lack of support, and this is a way towards filling that gap.
